THE EMBROIDERED NARRATIVE: COSTUME EMBROIDERY FOR FILM & TELEVISION Michele's talk is about the path leading her to work in the Film and Television industry as a Costume Embroiderer, explaining how she developed her style and techniques, as well as giving an insight into how she does her job. She will show examples of her embroidery work and explain the process of how she created some of the designs for the television series Game of Thrones and Elizabeth 1.

'DESIGNING FOR EMBROIDERY': A TALE OF TWO PATTERN DRAWERS A lecture based on the designing and teaching of a C17th- style embroidered casket project at the Ashmolean Museum 2012 - 2017, called THE NEEDLES EXCELLENCY. Nicola documents her design process for this project and her methods in general, and compares them to the same methods that were used 400 years ago for raised embroidery projects worked in domestic and professional settings.

FELT: FABRIC OF HISTORY Hear about Heather's fascination for this ancient cloth. She will talk about her Arts Council funded trip to Kyrgyzstan, commissions for major museum collections and her most recent solo exhibitions and 15 year involvement with the 62 Group of Textile Artists.

MIXED MEDIA & STITCH Weaving round a shape and adding stitch and mixed media is Isobel's latest passion. This in conjunction with other mixed media and stitch techniques will be explored.

ULTIMATE QUILT ARTISTS The beautiful art quilts produced today have certainly travelled a long way from their modest beginnings as utilitarian bed coverings. This talk will feature the exciting work of over 40 of the quilt artists featured in Linda's latest book, The Ultimate Guide to Art Quilting. The photographs will illustrate the diversity of work that art quilters have achieved, and the author will discuss many of the tools and techniques that contemporary quilt artists are using as they create work that is imaginative, quirky and unique.
